Nordic
business forum is a big event in Helsinki, it’s a networking and business
seminar.
Last weeks
Thursday we went to Tikkurila where LaureaES had putted up a live stream so
students could go there and watch different speakers.
We went
there with together with two of my friends and teammates, Julia and Tiia, to
hear Guy Kawasaki speak.
Guy
Kawasaki is a Silicon Valley marketing executive. He worked at Apple computer
and was one of the employees originally responsible for marketing the
Macintosh. Nowadays he is the chief evangelist of Canva, a graphics-design
online service.
For me it was hard to follow the speech because I thought he spoke to fast for me, as I’m not that good in English. He spoke something about what you need to know in business and which tools you should use.
One of the
things I put in my mind was what he told about perfect pitching. He had a 10,
20, 30 rule.
10 comes
from having 10 slides.
20 comes
from presenting those 10 slides in 20 minutes.
30 would be
the perfect size of font.
You should
also turn the background of the presentation black, this makes it more pleasant
to look and follow the presentation.
Though it
was hard for me to follow and understand everything that Kawasaki said, I liked
that he tried to be funny, told jokes and he took a lot of examples of his own
life and of his children.
