Week 5

Hi!
This has been a fun week!
On Monday we had a lecture where all the
cooperation partners for this autumn introduced them selves and told what they wants us students to help them with.

As I told you last week, our cooperation partner comes from One on One Oy/Celectus and our topic is their book series called Taivas+Helvetti. After the lecture we met Kari from One on One Oy and he told us more about him, the company and the book series. We were all so excited about this opportunity to work with this particular company!
The idea is that they want to find retailers to their books. This is a good way to earn some money to for example a sport club or to a class for their field trip. For every sold book, that costs 34,90€, the seller earns 10€! A pretty good deal, I think.
The books tells different stories of people who have challenged themselves. For example Jarkko Nieminen, Enni Rukajärvi and Pekka Hyysalo.
I had never heard about this company or the book, now I’m more than happy to work with this company and to learn more about this book series.

On Wednesday we met with our group and made a PowerPoint presentation about Taivas+Helvetti to Thursdays lecture.  We also filled the Business Model Canvas that we got as a task till Thursday. It was very good to look back to have to complete the BMC, it was a long time I have needed to do it.

Today we had a guest lecturer, Jyri Rasinmäki from Vapa Media. He told us about problem solving and the importance of thinking. One thing that especially made me think of myself when he spoke to us. He said that there is no stupid questions, that you don’t have to be afraid of asking any questions. It’s a way to make everybody know and remember who you are, where you come from and what’s your point. I’m always afraid of asking questions. As Jyri said in an example, I’m one of those who think that maybe someone think I’m stupid if I ask or what if I pronouns something wrong. This is something I have to work on, it’s something I can improve myself in!
After the lection other students told about their projects. It was interesting to hear how different projects everyone is working with.

On Thursday I also went to Tikkurila where LaureaES had fixed Nordic Business Forum live stand. I went together with Tiia and Julia to hear Guy Kawasaki speak. I will write about it more next week.

This blog post is coming already on Thursday, because tomorrow I will travel to Copenhagen with two members of my team, Julia and Tiia! Have a lovely weekend, I sure will!!
